POSITION TITLE: Cafeteria Worker
FLSA: Non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective grooming skills
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare quality, nutritious food items as directed by the School Cafeteria Manager.
- Serve food items according to the size portion to meet necessary age group requirements.
- Operate equipment in a safe, proper and efficient manner
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen. To clean all kitchen equipment, wash and sterilize dishes, silverware and utensils as assigned to proper sanitation procedures.
- Immediately report all accidents to the School Cafeteria Manager
- Immediately report any product quality or operational problem to the School Cafeteria Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the School Cafeteria Manager
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works well with people, especially children, and maintains a pleasant and positive work attitude. Also, must be able to work well with fellow workers.
- Follows proper food sanitation and cleanliness procedures.
- Possesses technical skills necessary to successfully complete different cafeteria duties and demonstrates willingness to learn new skills.
- Follows School Board policies and administration procedures.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Ability to manually move, shelve, stack or raise from floor to table to serving area heavy objects (pots, pans, trays, and food supplies) weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be flexible.
